October DT Project -
"Love is Chic" Altered Book

by Liz Caranci
(Ontario, Canada)

I have had the pleasure of working with the Love is Chic kit from EVG for the October Design Team project. I am honoured and so excited to have had a chance to do this. I decided I would work on an altered book for this month and had so much fun playing with these fabulous pages.

I loved reusing a book and making it something different. The Love is Chic pages were so gorgeous that I decided to leave most of them as highlights to my pocket pages. I did end up using most of the kit, but also learned that printing and coffee dying pages don't always mix. I was still able to use the pages that I printed, but they were not the same colour as the original kit.

I love the versatility of printing what you need, when you need it. Although, for this project I needed most of the pages, tags, etc.

Thank you so much for this opportunity.

Tuck spots
by: Anonymous

This is just beautiful! I love the way you did the tuck spots by adding a contrasting paper at the bottom of the page. I am using your idea in my journal - thank you so much for sharing all your ideas!

I think your altered book is wonderful...I really do like the mixture of coffee stained and undyed papers that you have used, in my opinion the combination of textures and colours does not detract from its beauty at all!

Enjoyed your video and especially liked all the concertina journalling spots you have included. A great way to use a plain book. You have given me ideas! Thank You.

Paper doilies
by: Nancy

I loved the paper doilies folded over the diagonal pockets! I'm going to adopt that idea, it's so pretty, and I have some dyed doilies that will be just the thing. Thanks!
And I very much liked the coffee dyed and printed pages, they were beautiful.
