Hole Reinforcements for Pages

I am contemplating making my first ring-bound journal and am wondering if it is necessary to use hole reinforcements for the journal pages.

Suggestions for Ring Bound Journal Pages
by: Debbie-Anne

Sounds like fun! The hole reinforcers are great if you're going to be using thin paper for your journal pages. Over time, turning the pages on rings can cause the pages to tear or the holes to get bigger. Not so much a concern with thicker pages such as card stock etc.

An alternative to hole reinforcers could be a strip of washi tape on either side of the page where your holes are punched. This would make the holes stronger.

Good luck with your project, we'd all love to see it when you're done - so please come back and share it with us!
