Fun to Try Junk Journal

by Liz C.
(Brampton, Ontario, Canada)

When I first wanted to make a journal, I was a little afraid of how it would turn out, I didn't want to make so many mistakes, and ruin pages, etc. I had been watching videos and reading blogs about all these beautiful journals being created out there and I did not think I was ready to make one myself. So after a bit of thought, I decided I would make myself a fun journal where I could try things out first.

This is a journal where I can make mistakes and try again, until I feel happy with the page/embellishment to make more for other journals.

I ended up loving the process of trying something out and seeing how it turned out; in doing so, I was able to give myself the freedom to play and have fun with it... which is how making a junk journal is supposed to be. Now I can't stop, I am doing more and more each day.

My journals are not perfect, but I feel confident enough in what I am doing to keep having fun. I also found many newbies to junk journals (like myself) sometimes share the same hesitation to get started, so I am hoping my fun journal idea helps with that process.

I too have been hesitant to try creating one of these. Luckily I've had your videos etc. for
inspiration. Still haven't done one, yet,but soon. Thanks for all the guidance.

Great Idea
by: Betty Perry

Thanks for sharing your idea. Good idea for those of us just starting out with Junk Journals and not sure just where to begin and not wanting to ruin or waste beautiful papers, this is a great place to start. Also having a place to refer back to things we have tried and liked or didn't like.

Thanks for sharing. I too made my first journal similar to this. I actually wrote all the names of the techniques used and stamps, envelope, paper lines, etc. it has become my journal bible for envelope style journals. TFS

Smart thinking
by: Margarete Miller

I love when you are able to tell yourself "this is my place to be free. It's ok to make mistakes here and if I don't like it I'm not going to get upset about it but learn and move on." That's a smart way to start so thanks for spreading the word. Others can learn from that. And your junk journal is neat. I like it.

LOVE
by: Tora

This journal is awesome, I love the idea of a journal that I can try things out in, see if I like it and remember how I did that. That is going to be one of my JJ´s :) Thanks for sharing.
