File Folders Make Perfect Journal Covers!

by Rachel JazzyCreations

Hi Crafty Peeps! I hope you're having a lovely weekend so far! I wanted to chat about file folders. Old, and new, colored, plain, or recycled, file folders make wonderful junk journal covers. You can find them in heavy weight or regular weight, and a few different sizes. I have even used the "hanging" type file folders. They are sturdy by themselves, or what I like to do is double mat them with colored cardstock and then scrapbook paper, or a printed image.

The photos above show one I recently made. I reinforced the spine with duct tape. You can purchase duct tape in a multitude of colors! I like to use recycled file folders that I have found at Staples because they have a nice kraft color. If you'd like to learn how I made this style file folder junk journal, an Etsy listing for a tutorial here.

Here are a couple of file folder journals I have made if you'd like to see them in detail.

I hope you give it a try. You can get a box of file folders pretty inexpensively and make a hundred of them! LOL!

Happy Crafting!

File folder journal

I LOVE this file folder journal, do you have a tutorial on it? I've made journals b4, but don't understand how you secured the files and pages into the album. I really want to make some of these. Appreciate any and all help you can give... 😆 Star
