Easy Way To Coffee Dye Paper

I love coffee dyed paper however, I'm not into dipping and drying in the oven. I tried spraying it on and wasn't happy with that either.

I got this idea to paint it on, I mix up instant coffee add some alcohol to it (found this on someone's blog) to keep it from getting moldy. Then I keep the coffee in an old squeeze ketchup bottle, put some in an old clean tuna can and use a 2" - 3" paint brush and start brushing away on paper that I've put on top of old craft packing paper.

I can do quite a few sheets at a time on my 8 ft table. when the first side is almost dry I flip and paint the other side, although if the paper is thin like copy paper you only need to do one side.

Thank you for letting me share my idea.

How much alcohol do you add to say...a cup of coffee? Thanks ;)

I'm new to the use of the alcohol also!
I always end up with paper that's too saturated.
This is a great method!

What a great idea and I am glad that you shared it because I did not know about adding alcohol and have wasted a lot of coffee before.
Also the idea of brushing it on makes sense. I will try it out though so far I am ok with leaving it in the coffee pan.

Thank you for sharing this.
