Attaching lace to spine

I love the look of lace along the spine of junk journals, but I'm uncertain as to how to attach it securely. Suggestions?

E-6000. Hold well and is flexible and clear.

Glue tests
by: Willson

I tried several different glues for lace and the pretty napkins, along with my favorite vinyl. I glued strips down on chipboard and tested them after 24 hours. The plain old Elmer's glue held the best with no gappy air bubbles trapped. That stuff is tough. The Fabritac, Ailerons and fabric glues all failed after a couple of days. It's like when they finally dried fully they weren't flexible and cracked.

Good morning to all. I use hot glue as I find that it works the best for me.

Good old Elmer's glue

I have used a thin layer of Elmer's glue on my two I have done. It seems to work well. I was going to try the matte mod podge next time.

I use Aleenes tacky glue. If any seeps out I use a baby wipe to clean it up.

I don't like it when I see shiny glue under my lace so I glue with fabric glue and press/dab lightly with a baby wipe ...this ensures it sticks fully down and yet removes some of the glue so you can enjoy the lace look and not notice glue. If I see any shine I cover it with matt medium to tone it down.

Can't really help with you all over 'the pond' as we get different glues here in England but for anyone in the UK I use Hi-Tack All Purpose (very sticky) Glue (made by Impex) .. it's brilliant sticks anything including wood !

Hi Amy, my go-to adhesive for lace is Fabri-Tac. But I also have Crafter's Pick 'utltimate glue' that I use too.
