A Pretty Way To Keep
Your Seam Binding Attached

by Debbie-Anne

Here's an alternative to the spine button closure. This one doesn't have the strength of the sewn button for wrapping around, but it's a great way to keep your seam binding or ribbon attached to your junk journal while the book is open and in use.

It's really easy to do. I punch a small hole in the center of the book spine before my signatures are sewn in and insert my decorative brad.

Then, I use the hidden spine pamphlet stitch binding to add my signatures. Or, I use the 4-hole pamphlet stitch that 'skips' over the middle of the spine.

To attach my seam binding or ribbon, I wrap it around the brad once and I'm done. Now my seam binding is never misplaced!
